Uzbekistan's IT Visa is a multiple-entry visa that allows foreign IT specialists, investors, startup founders, company founders, and IT academics to live and work in Uzbekistan for up to three years without a separate work permit. Introduced in April 2022 and substantially expanded by the 2024–2026 reforms, the program is administered by IT Park Uzbekistan and targets technology professionals seeking to participate in the country's growing IT sector. IT Park resident companies benefit from exemptions on all corporate taxes, social tax, customs duties, and VAT on exported services, with these benefits (except VAT relief) extended through January 2040.
Eligibility
Following the 2024–2026 reforms, the IT Visa covers five categories of applicants:
IT Specialists — Foreign nationals with IT qualifications employed in an IT specialty at an IT Park resident company, with at least USD 30,000 in income from IT activities over the preceding 12 months
Investors — Individuals (or representatives of foreign investment companies) financing an IT-sector legal entity, or holding an equity stake in it, of at least USD 30,000 (raised from USD 10,000 by the 2026 amendment)
Founders — Individuals holding a share of at least USD 30,000 in the charter capital of an IT Park resident company, together with the heads of their executive bodies (CEOs), board chairs, and their deputies
Startup participants — Founders, participants, and specialists of startup projects in the Digital Startups Programme
IT academics — Foreign professors and lecturers holding a Candidate of Sciences, PhD, or Doctor of Sciences (DSc) degree in information technology
Most categories require an association with a registered IT Park resident entity, Digital Startups Programme participation, or a qualifying IT academic degree.
Application Process
Apply online at the IT Visa portal (itvisa.uz, also accessible via my.gov.uz) and obtain a recommendation letter from the IT Park Directorate, which evaluates eligibility for the relevant category
For applicants outside Uzbekistan, the recommendation is used to obtain the visa at Uzbek consulates abroad
For applicants already in Uzbekistan on a B-2, PV-2, or VTD visa, apply at regional offices of the Ministry of Internal Affairs
The IT Park board votes on approvals at its monthly meeting; the consular step is typically processed within 3 business days, while portal applications are reviewed within up to 30 days
Applicants from visa-exempt countries receive an IT Park recommendation document in lieu of a visa sticker.

Duration & Renewal
The IT Visa is valid for up to 3 years and can be extended without leaving Uzbekistan, provided continued IT Park residency status is maintained. Multiple-entry consular fees are USD 150 (up to 6 months), USD 250 (up to 1 year), USD 300 (up to 2 years), and USD 350 (up to 3 years); the IT Park recommendation itself is free. If the associated IT Park resident company loses its residency status, the visa may be shortened or cancelled.
Tax Benefits
Personal income tax for employees of IT Park residents is fixed at 7.5%, compared to the standard 12% rate. IT Park resident companies are exempt from all corporate taxes, social tax, customs duties, and VAT on exported services. The dividend tax rate for non-resident founders of IT Park residents was set at 5% from February 2025. Under Presidential Decree UP-157 of October 2024, these tax and customs benefits (except VAT relief) were extended from January 2028 to January 2040 for residents whose exports exceed 50% of annual income.
Living in Uzbekistan
IT Visa holders benefit from simplified residence procedures and are not required to register their place of residence when travelling within Uzbekistan. The IT Park provides a one-stop-shop relocation service that assists with company registration (1-3 working days), bank account opening, tax registration, and accommodation searches. Holders may also apply for a simplified residence permit procedure and can purchase property of any value.
Family Members
Spouses, parents, and children of IT Visa holders receive guest visas for the same validity period as the principal holder's visa. These guest visas can be renewed within Uzbekistan without leaving the country. Family members have access to medical and educational services on the same terms as Uzbek citizens.
